TGIF : )

TODAY.....my first thought when I woke up today was "uh-oh!" Unfortunately, I did not hear my alarm clock this morning and I woke up to a phone call from Marcus! I answered, and I immediately said, "what time is it?" He said, "its 9:20." So I jumped out of bed to get ready, because we had arabic class at 9:00. Now you probably have figured out that I can not afford to miss one second of our class. Arabic is a tough language and our instructor really wants us to learn as fast as possible. I want to learn arabic as fast as possible too so I have to study every chance I get. Well, as I was walking to class I was really dreading the possibility that she was going to "drill" me with questions when I got there. Keep in mind, I just woke up so I was basically sleep walking to class...haha. But, today class went really well. We started a new book because we are finished learning the arabic letters. We learned how to write and pronounce the letters in 2 class periods--there are almost 30 letters. Each letter is written in a different form whether it is at the beginning, in the middle, or at the end of a word. Each letter also has about 7 pronunciations depending on the "markings." So today in class we were reading words in arabic & learning there meaning. Class ended at 11:00, so we went to eat lunch. After lunch, we all went our separate ways to meet new students and to hang out with some of the students we already met. It was a nice time & we were able to share more about ourselves with our friends and to hear more about them. After spending several hours on campus, I came back to the room to get some things done & to relax. I was very excited when I got home and noticed that maintenance had come to my room to replace some of my lightbulbs. Basically, 3 out of the 5 lights that are in my apartment had blown out and no longer worked. They have been out for a while, so I was basically just using the light from one room! I was very excited to see the light...haha. Well, that is about it for today. You will not be hearing from me again until Monday because we will be going to the mtns of Lebanon in the morning with our friends until Sunday.
