Relaxation...woohoo : )

FRIDAY, SATURDAY, & SUNDAY.......after going back & forth to General Security and Ministry of Education last week (our rough week), we finally got everything done on Friday! All we have to do now is go back to General Security at the end of this week to pick up our passports after they finish processing our visa's. Keep your fingers crossed that there are no complications because our temporary visa will run out soon! After this business Friday morning, we spent several hours on campus meeting students. I met students randomly on campus, but then Friday evening from 4-6, I had my hip hop dance class that I started last week! This has been a great way for me to get to know girls and I really enjoy dancing : ) We have lots of fun and the girls help me with my arabic. After class, I rushed back to the apartment and Marcus & I went to a house church with our friend Khatchig. Since we have been here, almost every Friday night, we have been going to this house church. We enjoy the worship and the people are very nice & encouraging. This week we met an American guy that is from Chicago, but he moved to Lebanon a week ago to teach school! There is another american girl that goes to this service that is from upstate New York. She has been in Lebanon for a few years and she will probably be here for the rest of her life because she likes it here and she is engaged to a Lebanese man. It is very funny, but all the Americans gather after the service. It is like an instant friendship because it makes you feel like you have visited home through the conversation. Once we got home Friday night (which was pretty late), we all went to bed and slept in on Saturday. After such a challenging and long week, we were all ready for sleep and REST. Saturday, I was able to sleep in and then to get some personal things done--like laundry! So it was great : ) On Sundays, we have to wake up pretty early because we go to church about 30mins outside of Beirut with our friends khatchig & levon. It is up one of the mtns so I always enjoy the view on the drive there & back. On our way to church, we ran into a bit of traffic because a big truck had turned over in the middle of the road when he was driving down the mtn. and all the vegetables on the truck were in the road. Thankfully we still got there on time! Church was great this week. We always have to have a translator because the service is in arabic, but normally our friend Levon sits behinds us and translates. Well, this Sunday, there were so many english speaking visitors that we had head phones and a girl sat in the back of the room and translated into a microphone! It was a very cool experience : ) After church, I had a productive but relaxing day! So basically this weekend was GREAT : ) I'll be in touch again soon!

Love,
Tiffany
